NOW is the best time to book your next cruise.

The long answer?  We don’t know 100% when cruising will resume.  It all depends on the Australian government allowing cruise ships back into Australia and then opening up international borders.  One thing we know for sure is the overwhelming majority of our cruisers would get on a ship tomorrow if they could!

The good news is that the cruise industry has been working closely with the Australian government to resume cruise operation in Australia.  Most likely we’ll be seeing domestic cruises resuming first, then international cruises from Australia within a South Pacific ‘bubble’.

Each day that passes, we’re getting closer to an announcement and when that happens, bookings will go through the roof.  We all know that demand drives price so you can guess what will happen when demand is up…

It’s likely that ships will have reduced capacity for the 21/22 season which will also put pressure on demand and pricing once we have confirmation of resumption.  At the moment most pricing is based on ships sailing at capacity so it makes sense to lock in the current fares.

Most cruise lines have reduced deposits at the moment as well as ‘Cruise with Confidence’ policies protecting your deposits and final payments.  Cruise line policies with Australian departures in 21/22 can be viewed here.

how will cruising resume?

CLIA have formulated a new health framework to define cruising’s future.  Following close collaboration and consultation with expert health advisors and other industry-initiated expert groups around the world, CLIA has established a COVID-19 Member Policy that builds upon the Core Elements announced last October that commit to 100% testing of passengers and crew prior to embarkation – a travel industry first.

What about 22/23 cruises?

There are bucket list cruises that people have been planning for years that they couldn’t get on in 2020/21.  They are now rebooking for 22/23.

Repositioning cruises are performing extraordinarily well so far (Honolulu-Sydney being the stand out) as well as luxury brand cruises and ‘Round the World’.  Add the re-bookers on top of those who were already planning these for 22/23, and we have a much higher demand.  A few favourites are listed at the bottom of this page.

World cruise bookings are up on previous years and Regent Seven Seas latest world cruise booked out in 3 hours!  Contact us for info, to pre-register and book for that bucket list cruise you’ve always wanted.

Princess 22/23 Season

Over the last year I’ve kept booking for what are the next departures from Australia, currently December 21 is the earliest it will happen.  For 22/23 I’m eyeing off the Caribbean and Europe cruises.  Well…. maybe I’ll do both!  I do have some lost cruising to make up for, after all!

With the policies in place to protect our small deposits, we really can book with confidence right now.  With great pricing, positive signs the industry will resume this year and some lost experiences to make up for, why wouldn’t you book now?

If you have a Future Cruise Credit, even if you booked direct, Deluxe Travel & Cruise can apply it to your next booking.

It’s time to plan the future.  Cruising will be back soon, bigger and better than it’s ever been. You don’t want to be the one waving from the dock.
